Association members may be interested to know that the Marist Association (MASMC) is an affiliate member of the Association of Ministerial Public Juridic Persons (AMPJP). AMPJP represents the interests of all ministerial PJPs, with organisations such as the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC), Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) and various regulatory authorities. The link below to a video on the AMPJP website provides a brief overview of the purpose of AMPJP. https://ampjp.org.au/about-us/
In 2020, AMPJP established the Committee of Religious Institute and Ministerial Public Juridic Person School Authorities Australia (CORMSAA). CORMSAA replaces and builds upon the legacy of CRA’s education committee, and is chaired by MSA National Director, Dr Frank Malloy.
Br Michael Green has been the MASMC delegate on the Council of AMPJP, and was recently replaced by new MASMC Councillor, Lee MacMaster.
Dr Frank Malloy presents at the AMPJP Forum in Cairns, August 2025.

“The fundamental difference is that MASMC is seeking to be recognised canonically as an aggregation of people rather than an aggregation of things or works”
On 17-18 August, AMPJP convened its annual Forum and AGM in Cairns, immediately prior to the National Catholic Education Conference. Dr Frank Malloy, Br Michael Green and I represented MASMC and MSA at the AMPJP Forum. Br Michael and I also gave a presentation on the MASMC model, which is different to all other Australian ministerial PJPs. The fundamental difference is that MASMC is seeking to be recognised canonically as an aggregation of people rather than an aggregation of things or works. There was great interest in the MASMC model at the AMPJP Forum, and we are progressing the preparation of our application for canonical recognition by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference.
