Student Leaders Plant the First Trees on Australian Soil
Our first Buy A Tree, or ‘BAT’ trees, have been planted on Australian soil!
Trees planted in Mittagong
In November 2025, Principals at the NSW/ACT Student Leader’s Gathering (SLG), were each presented with a ‘BAT’ tree at the SLG’s formal dinner. These trees were then planted in the grounds of The Hermitage, Mittagong, by each school’s Student Leaders the following day. We hope to continue planting trees in the grounds of The Hermitage at many more Marist Youth Ministry events throughout 2026.
Plans for St Greg’s Campbelltown
In addition, St Gregory’s College Campbelltown (SGC) Principal, Mr Matthew Brennan, has kindly allowed our Star of the Sea Laudato Si’ Action Committee to explore the possibility of planting BAT trees on SGC grounds! We look forward to working with SGC to make this vision a reality.
