Over the past 18 months, Marist Schools Australia has strengthened its commitment to continuous improvement through the development of the Marist School Improvement Framework. Our driving question that has underpinned this intent:
How can a school improvement framework and process be distributed, accessible, meaningful, and owned by stakeholders?
Centred on five phases: Context, Priorities, Plan, Implement, Evaluate.
The Framework integrates the ACER School Improvement Tool and Marist Spirituality, aligning strategic planning with measurable impact.
Key achievements so far:
1. A systemwide co-constructed approach- Marist School Improvement Framework
2. Launch of the Marist Measures of Excellence
3. Strengthened data-informed decision-making and professional learning networks
“The criticality of coherence and coordination....it’s now a lived reality
across our Marist schools.”
The outcome and key takeaways that are now inherently in our network of schools are:
Purpose
Alignment
Collective Efficacy
The accompanying framework visually captures this alignment - from Cyclic Inquiry to Action Agreements, Learning Conversations, and Reporting - all driving improved student outcomes.
