Lismore Marists Encounter the 'Strangers' Thing'

Last Sunday, 14 Marists at Lismore got together for a Local Group Gathering at the Brothers’ Community Chapel. They explored the 2025 Marist theme, Pilgrims of Hope – Look Beyond.

Br John Hilet welcomed everyone, then guest presenter Br Tony Leon presented “The Strangers’ Thing”, focussing on the concept of ‘stranger’ – the Latin etymology of the word pilgrim.

The group welcomed three new Association Members, Annette, Julian and Alison.

They also heard from Br Bill Tarrant, who introduced the new venture at the Brothers’ home:  ‘House of Light’, a retreat & spirituality centre.  The group had a chance to see the renovation, which is ready to welcome people interested in looking beyond, and who are on their own personal pilgrimage.

The group continued with table fellowship at the nearby Sherwood Hotel.
