The Cairns Local Marist Association held its first gathering of the year last Wednesday, with a group of eleven members coming together for an evening of reflection and community.

We were very fortunate to have Br Tony Leon visiting Cairns, who generously facilitated the session titled “Amazing Grace.” The 50-minute presentation was both engaging and interactive, inviting participants to explore the theme of grace within their own lives.

A central element of the evening was the opportunity for small group sharing, where members participated in thoughtful contemplation, spiritual reflection, and open discussion. Participants reflected on their personal life journeys and considered how the gift of grace has shaped and influenced their experiences and relationships.

The reflective nature of the session was deeply appreciated by those present, and the evening provided a meaningful opportunity for connection, faith sharing, and personal insight.

The group looks forward with anticipation to Br Tony’s return in Term 3, when he will lead the second part of the “Amazing Grace” series.
