“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
If you ever feel overwhelmed by the reality of the climate crisis, you are not alone. Many of us feel the weight of the challenge - but taking even a small step forward can make a meaningful difference.
Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) has launched an initiative called: “10,000 for 10”, marking the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ encyclical on care for our common home.
This initiative invites all of us to be part of a collective goal—planting and/or protecting 10,000 trees in 2025. You are invited to plant a tree, protect one through a care plan, or contribute to a not-for-profit regenerative project.
As members of the Marist Association, this is a meaningful way we can respond together - personally or as a group - to the Pope’s ongoing call for environmental stewardship.
To register your participation, share photos, or record your tree planting, protection plan, or donation, please visit: 👉 10,000 for 10 – CRA Initiative
In 2015, Pope Francis urged the world to take "swift and unified global action" to protect God’s creation. That call is more urgent than ever—and together, we can be part of the response.
If you need help or advice on what and where to plant a tree, see your local nursery or contact me Jeni Miller.
