Marists Gather at Maroubra: Reflection, Connection, and Celebration

On a warm and sunny late November Thursday afternoon, more than a dozen Marists came together at Maroubra Beach for a reflective gathering led by Br Robert O’Connor. Participants included members from the Sydney Eastern region school communities of Maroubra, Daceyville, North Shore, and Randwick, along with Brothers from the Randwick community and others connected to Marist life.

Br Robert’s reflection focused on one of Saint Marcellin’s key teachings: Mary’s pondering (Luke 2:19) on the person of Jesus. He invited everyone to consider how living “in Mary’s way” is central to Marists in making Jesus Christ known and loved in our own lives and in the lives of those around us.

The afternoon concluded with a relaxed pub meal, offering time for conversation and connection, a fitting way to celebrate the year and strengthen the bonds of our Marist family.
